OPTCL or the Orissa Power Transmission Corporation limited is wholly owned company of Orissa government. The company is incorporated in 2004 under companies Act 1956 for transmission utility purpose of electricity in the state of Orissa. Currently the company has issued notification to recruit eligible candidates on the posts of r. Maintenance & Operator Trainee (JMOT) & Jr. Telecom Technician Trainee (JTTT). Only eligible candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria can apply online though website of OPTCL.
OPTCL Recruitment 2013 details
The notification issued on dated 14-03-2013 to fill 120 posts of JMOT and JTTT. Out of 103 vacancies for JMOT, 40 posts are available for unreserved candidates while rest are reserved for SC/ST/SEBC candidates. On the other hand, out of 17 vacancies for post of JTTT, 17 posts are available for unreserved category candidates and rest are reserved. The selected candidates after going through with selection process will get a stipend of Rs.6000 per month till 1 year. On successful completion of the training period, these candidates will be appointed on probation as Semi skilled –A category cadre as semi skilled assistant (Electrical /telecom) with pay scale of Rs 5200-20,200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2100.

How to apply –
Candidates willing to apply for these posts should fill online application form available on website http://optcl.eadmissions.net/. Application can be filled till closure of online registration i.e. 14th April 2013. Intimation to candidates regarding Hall ticket / admit card will be sent by company through SMS/email till 20th May 2013. Tentative date of written exam is 9th June 2013.
OPTCL Recruitment 2013 Written Exam Syllabus
Written exam will consists of multiple choice questions covering 1- general aptitude test and 2- Subject Knowledge.
General Aptitude test syllabus – General aptitude test will be comprising of questions for General knowledge, current affairs, Quantitative aptitude and reasoning. Candidates should prepare for current affairs as the most questions will be asked from this section. General knowledge will cover questions from History, Geography, Places, Dates and current affairs questions.
Subject Knowledge – Candidates will be asked question from their subject. It is essential as to qualify written exam and to appoint as trainee. Only those candidates who will secure minimum cutoff marks in both the question papers will be only called for interview.
OPTCL Recruitment 2013 Exam Pattern
Question papers will of objective type. The test will be taken of
- General aptitude Test
- Subject Knowledge test
Question paper will be of objective type questions having multiple choices. Candidates should mark correct answer only else leave the question because there is negative marking for each wrong answer provided by candidates in question paper. Each wrong answer will subject to deduction of .25 marks. So candidates should avoid guess marking to escape from penalty of wrong choice in question paper.
