 ORISSA Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2013 Exam pattern, Syllabus and Qualifying Marks

TET is an essential exam for all B.Ed experienced candidates for applying for teacher occupations for schools which are run by the Government & Private Managements. ORISSA TET 2013 Exam also known as OTET consists of 2 papers. Paper I is for candidates who wants to teach classes I – V. Paper II is for candidates who wants to teach classes VI to VIII. Candidates who intend to teach from I to VIII should appear for both Paper I and Paper II.

Paper I – To get teaching jobs for classes I to V in primary schools in Orissa.

Paper II – To get teaching jobs for classes VI to VIII in upper primary schools in Orissa.

Paper I & II: – Candidates who want teaching jobs for classes I to VIII in primary and upper primary schools in Orissa. They can give both the papers and are required to have passing marks to get considered for the job.

ORISSA TET 2013 Examination Scheme

  • OTET 2013 Paper I exam duration is one and a half hours
  • OTET 2013 Paper II exam duration is one and a half hours

ORISSA TET 2013 Examination Syllabus and Subjects

OTET 2013 Paper I – In each subject part 20 questions would be fixed from contents & from pedagogy 10 questions. There would be in total 150 questions.

Subjects would be following-

  • Child Development & Pedagogy
  • Language II
  • Language I
  • Maths
  • Environmental Studies

OTET 2013 Paper II – In each subject part 20 questions would be fixed from contents & from pedagogy 10 questions. There would be in total 150 questions.

Subjects would be following-

  • Child Development and Pedagogy (compulsory)
  • Language II  (compulsory)
  • Language I  (compulsory)
  • Others -
    • For Maths & Science teacher – Maths & Science
    • For Social Science/Social Studies teacher – Social Science
    • For some other teacher – either a or b

Options Subjects:

  • For Maths & Science Teacher – 30 questions from maths & 30 questions will be from science. In each subject part 20 questions would be fixed from contents & from pedagogy 10 questions
  • For Social Studies Teacher – 30 questions will be from History & Political Science & 30 questions will be from Geography. In each subject part 20 questions would be fixed from contents & from pedagogy 10 questions

Note

Every question would be Multiple Choice, carrying 1 mark each, with 4 alternatives and one of them would be correct. The questions will be fixed to assess applicant’s ability to evaluate, interpret & apply the concerned subject matter. No negative marking will be there

OTET Exam Qualification Marks

  • Candidate who gets 60 % or more in exam 2013 will be considered TET pass.
  • Orissa Government May contemplate giving concessions to people belonging to OBC, SC/ST and differently able people, etc. Candidate who gets 50 % or more in exam 2013 will be considered TET pass
